Ahem .. The most difficult task .. Talking about yourself. .
You should say enough to paint a fairly clear picture and yet not sound too
full of yourself .. Let me try :)
Am a person who enjoys every blessing that God has showered
upon me - A big wonderful family full of warm relationships, lovely friends to
laugh with me and support me while I tread the rough waters, a workplace that I
enjoy going to for all that it gives me, my guru and God who has made life a
worthwhile journey of self improvement with his guiding hand evident at every step.
I am an avid reader and I love to write (the result of which
you are now reading J). I have learnt carnatic music for over 15 years and perform concerts along
with my sister. I love the art dearly and go on a concert marathon to listen
to all my favourite stalwarts in the December music season at Chennai every year. That brings us to another love in
my life. The Chennai city! Now, I can see you shaking your head with wide
eyed wonder. What?? That place which has only three seasons in a year called
hot, hotter and even hotter? That place where the auto guys charge a bomb even
to take you to the next street? That place where nearly no one speaks the
national language(me being one amongst them L). But yes.I love this city where I was born and brought up. I love this
city where tradition and modernity coexist and contribute to enhance one
another. I love this city that has the beautiful ever welcoming beaches. I
love this city where I can freak out at the malls, experiment all kinds of
cusines at the variety of restaurants and then cool my soul within the pristine
interiors of the Mylapore temple and finish with a flourish at the Karpagambal
mess with Podi dosai and Thayir Sadam :)
Well, all this makes me sound like a picture of goodness and
positivity. Don’t you get deluded. I am also a queen at procrastination, an
epitome of inconsistency at everything I ever do and am incurably lazy at times. I just love
those luxurious weekends when I can spend my day reading Wodehouse and my
favourite blogs , have long chats with my sis , play with my nephew, drink
loads of coffee and tea and enjoy short blissful siestas.
Phew!! That was quite long. I could tell you more but before
you take to your heels never to return here, I shall stop. Cheers :)
WOW! you give concerts??
ReplyDeleteyou know what, I have also learnt carnatic music and used to sing with my sister when she gave concerts. (just as vocal support for I don't have the advance level expertise.)
Glad to know that you have honed your talent to this level and are also passionate about it.

Also, I totally second your statement "I love this city where tradition and modernity coexist and contribute to enhance one another"- romba romba true :) :)
